Venice, CA on Speedway

In L.A. for the long holiday weekend, staying with friends. Beautiful 80-degrees at the beach today. Wandered around Malibu and Venice. Just a nice relaxing day, me and my camera. This shot was as I was leaving the Venice boardwalk, heading back to the truck, near the canals.

Hey, Tim, Great photo. Must be by Venice Beach. Morrison was said to have lived in Venice Beach when he was a student of cinematography at UCLA. Word has it that he was actually homeless and hung out in Venice Beach, getting high and sleeping on rooftops there. He was supposedly "pudgy" when he got there, but his lack of funds for food leaned him down. (Poverty diet not so great.) Anyway, I wanted to let you know I checked out your blog and photos. Kepp the great photos coming... and I like the idea of a collection of storefront photos.

Hello and hugs from Jeanne (formerly of Cwg fame)
